Robert Skimin
Robert Skimin (1929-2011) was a U.S. Army officer, artist, and acclaimed author of historical fiction and nonfiction, serving 20 years as a paratrooper, artillery officer, and pilot in Korea and Special Forces in Europe before retiring as a major. He began writing professionally in his mid-40s in El Paso, Texas, producing 17 books including the Pulitzer-nominated Apache Autumn and the Ohiana Book Award-winning Chikara. Inducted into the El Paso Writers Hall of Fame, his works often explored military history and epic family sagas.
