Robert Resnick

Robert Resnick was an American physicist born in Baltimore, Maryland, who co-authored the influential textbook 'Fundamentals of Physics' with David Halliday in 1960, which has been used by over 10 million students worldwide and translated into more than 47 languages. He served as a professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 1956, heading the interdisciplinary science curriculum for 15 years, and authored or co-authored seven textbooks on physics topics including relativity and quantum physics. He received the Oersted Medal in 1974 and was president of the American Association of Physics Teachers from 1986 to 1990, passing away in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 2014.[2][4]
