Robert Morgan

Robert Morgan is an American poet, novelist, and nonfiction writer born in Hendersonville, North Carolina, raised on a family farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains. He is best known for his New York Times bestseller Gap Creek, selected by Oprah Winfrey for her book club, along with poetry collections like Terroir and Dark Energy, and nonfiction works such as Boone: A Biography. Since 1971, he has taught at Cornell University as Kappa Alpha Professor of English (Emeritus), earning awards including the Academy of Arts and Letters Award for Literature.
