Robert J Horton

Robert J. Horton (1885-1934) was a prolific American author of western genre fiction during the 1920s and early 1930s, known for stories in magazines like Western Story Magazine and Adventure. Born in Coudersport, Pennsylvania, he traveled the American West around 1908, inspiring his writing career that began in 1917 with sales to Munsey Publications. His novels, later reprinted by Five Star, emphasized character development over plot in themes of cattle rustling, rancher-miner conflicts, and romance; he died in 1934 after personal tragedies including the loss of his wife and family.
