Robert Davis
Robert C. Davis is a professor of Italian Renaissance and early modern Mediterranean history at Ohio State University, with a PhD from Johns Hopkins University in 1989. He has authored six books and co-edited two others, focusing on Venice, Italy, and the Mediterranean through topics like popular culture, violence, shipbuilding, and working-class life, including notable works such as 'Shipbuilders of the Venetian Arsenal,' 'The War of the Fists,' and 'Christian Slaves, Muslim Masters.' His research has been supported by prestigious fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, Fulbright, and the Institute for Advanced Study.
