Robert B. Louden
Robert B. Louden is a Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at the University of Southern Maine, specializing in ethical theory, history of ethics, and the history of philosophy, particularly the works of Immanuel Kant. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 1981 and has authored books such as Morality and Moral Theory (1992) and Kant's Impure Ethics (2000), while serving as editor and translator for volumes in the Cambridge Edition of Kant's works. A past president of the North American Kant Society (2009-2014), he has held various academic positions including visiting professorships at Göttingen University and Emory University.
