Rimple Mehta
Rimple Mehta is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Social Sciences, Western Sydney University, specializing in sociology, social work, and women’s studies with a focus on gender, borders, sexuality, prisons, refugee women, human trafficking, citizenship, and the criminology of mobility.[1][2][5] She previously served as Assistant Professor at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai and the School of Women’s Studies at Jadavpur University in Kolkata, and has worked with women in prisons in Mumbai, Kolkata, Sydney, and detention centres in the Netherlands.[1][2] Her publications include the forthcoming book 'Women, Mobility and Incarceration: Love and Recasting of Self across the Bangladesh-India Border' and the co-edited volume 'Women, Incarcerated: Narratives from India'.[1][2][3]
