Richard Whately

Richard Whately (1787–1863) was an English academic, rhetorician, logician, philosopher, economist, and theologian who served as the reforming Archbishop of Dublin in the Church of Ireland from 1831 until his death. A leading Broad Churchman and prolific author, he influenced education by shaping Ireland's national school system, writing key textbooks like 'Easy Lessons on Money Matters,' and championing free-market economics and social reforms. He was among the first to recognize Jane Austen's talents and authored influential works on logic and rhetoric.[1][2][3]
