Richard W. Baker
Dr. Richard W. Baker is a pioneering membrane scientist who earned his Ph.D. in physical chemistry from Imperial College London in 1966 under Professor R.M. Barrer. He developed ultrafiltration membranes at Amicon Corporation, contributed to drug delivery systems at Alza including the OcusertĀ®, co-founded Bend Research in 1974, and founded Membrane Technology and Research, Inc. (MTR) in 1982, where he served as president for 25 years and authored over 100 papers and patents.[1][2][4]
