Richard Tolman

Richard Chace Tolman (1881-1948) was an American mathematical physicist and physical chemist renowned for contributions to statistical mechanics, relativistic thermodynamics, and theoretical cosmology.[1][3] He demonstrated that electrons are the charge-carrying particles in metals, served as a key scientific advisor on the Manhattan Project under General Leslie Groves, and was professor and dean of graduate studies at Caltech.[1][2][3]
