Richard Sobol

Richard Barry Sobol was a civil rights attorney born in 1937 in the Bronx, New York, who graduated from Union College and Columbia University School of Law. He worked in Washington, D.C., with the Lawyers Constitutional Defense Committee and later defended black civil rights activists in New Orleans, Louisiana, facing threats during desegregation and employment discrimination cases. Sobol died on March 24, 2020, at age 82 in Sebastopol, California, from complications of pneumonia following cancer treatment.[1][3]
