Richard Russo
Richard Russo (born July 15, 1949) is an American novelist, short story writer, screenwriter, and teacher, best known for his realistic depictions of small-town life in the Northeastern United States. He won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 2002 for his novel Empire Falls, which was adapted into an HBO miniseries, and has authored numerous other novels including the North Bath trilogy (Nobody’s Fool, Everybody’s Fool, and Somebody’s Fool), short story collections, a memoir, and essays. Raised in Gloversville, New York, he has taught at institutions like Colby College and now lives in Portland, Maine.
