Richard Rodgers

Richard Rodgers was an American composer who worked primarily in musical theater, creating 43 Broadway musicals and over 900 songs that significantly influenced 20th-century popular music. He pioneered the modern American musical by integrating stories from books and plays with seamless storytelling. Rodgers was the first person to win all five major American entertainment awards: an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony, and two Pulitzer Prizes.
