Richard Powers

Richard Powers is an American novelist born on June 18, 1957, in Evanston, Illinois, renowned for his intellectually rigorous works exploring the intersections of science, technology, philosophy, and human experience.[1][6] His notable novels include The Echo Maker, which won the 2006 National Book Award, and The Overstory, recipient of the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction; he has published fourteen novels as of 2024 and received a MacArthur Fellowship.[1][2] Powers has taught at the University of Illinois and Stanford University, and currently lives in the Great Smoky Mountains.[2]
