Richard M. Felder
Richard M. Felder is Hoechst Celanese Professor Emeritus of Chemical Engineering at North Carolina State University, where he taught from 1969 until retiring in 1999. He earned a B.Ch.E. from the City College of New York in 1962 and a Ph.D. from Princeton University in 1966, followed by postdoctoral work in England and research at Brookhaven National Laboratory. Renowned for coauthoring the textbook 'Elementary Principles of Chemical Processes' and pioneering work in engineering education, including the Felder-Silverman Index of Learning Styles, he has authored over 300 papers and received numerous awards for teaching excellence.
