Richard Kraus
Richard G. Kraus (1923–2002) was a prominent American author, professor emeritus in Recreation and Leisure Studies at Temple University, and a leading expert on square dancing and international dance. He authored or contributed to over 40 publications, helping establish recreation studies as a formal academic field, and was a founding member of the Academy of Leisure Sciences. Known by the moniker 'Texas Dick,' he was also a celebrated square dance caller and a passionate advocate for the cooperative movement.
