Richard Hug

Richard Hugo was an influential American poet of the Pacific Northwest, known for his deep connection to regional landscapes and exploration of complex emotional themes through simple rural settings. Born in Seattle, Washington, he served as a bombardier in World War II and later taught at the University of Montana, where he published nine collections of poetry before dying of leukemia in 1982.
