Richard H. Gebhardt

Richard H. Gebhardt (1910-1972) was a prominent figure in the cat fancy, serving as President of the Cat Fanciers' Association (CFA) for 12 years from 1968 to 1980, during which he guided the organization through its largest growth period.[1] He introduced key reforms including litter registration, the modern scoring system, National Winner awards, and policies ending veterinary inspection lines at shows and restricting cattery name prefixes.[1] Internationally recognized as a cat show judge and advocate for cats, his visionary leadership transformed CFA standards and practices.[1][4]
