Richard G Wilkinson

Richard G. Wilkinson (born 1943) is a British social epidemiologist, writer, and advocate best known for his research on income inequality and its effects on health and social problems, co-authoring the influential book *The Spirit Level* with Kate Pickett in 2009. He served as Professor Emeritus of Social Epidemiology at the University of Nottingham, retiring in 2008, and contributed to the Black Report on health inequalities. In 2009, he co-founded The Equality Trust to promote greater income equality.
