Richard Fremantle

Richard Christian Wynne Fremantle (1936–2018) was an American art historian known for his scholarship on the early Florentine Renaissance, especially the painter Masaccio. His best-known work was the 1975 book *Florentine Gothic Painters: A Guide to Painting in and near Florence from Giotto to Masaccio, 1300–1450*.
