Richard D Parsons

Richard D. Parsons (1948–2024) was a pioneering American business executive and serial troubleshooter who rescued distressed companies including Time Warner, Citigroup, and CBS, becoming the first African American to serve as chairman of Citigroup and CEO of Time Warner. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he rose from working-class origins to become one of America's most influential black executives, known for his humane and steady leadership in finance and media. He passed away at age 76 from cancer in Manhattan, New York.
