Richard Curtis

Richard Curtis is a British screenwriter, director, and producer born in New Zealand to Australian parents, best known for romantic comedies like Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill, Love Actually, and Bridget Jones's Diary, as well as TV series such as Blackadder and Mr. Bean.[2][6][5] He co-founded Comic Relief with Lenny Henry after visiting Ethiopia during the 1985 famine, creating Red Nose Day which has raised over £1 billion for charity, and founded Project Everyone in 2014 to promote the UN Sustainable Development Goals.[1][3][6] Educated at Harrow and Oxford, he has received awards including the BAFTA Academy Fellowship in 2007 and the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award in 2024.[4][6]
