Richard Barth
Richard P. Barth is a prominent author and scholar in social work, having authored 18 books and over 300 scholarly articles cited more than 30,000 times, focusing on child welfare, adoption, foster care, and social work education.[1][2] He has served as Dean of the University of Maryland School of Social Work since 2006 and is the founder and president of the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare, established in 2009.[2] Notable works include 'Social and Cognitive Treatment of Children and Adolescents' (1986) and 'Beyond Common Sense: Child Welfare, Child-Well-Being, and the Evidence for Policy Reform' (2006).[2]
