Richard A 1837-1888 Proctor
Richard Anthony Proctor (1837–1888) was an English astronomer and popular science writer known for creating one of the earliest detailed maps of Mars in 1867, based on 27 drawings by William Rutter Dawes. He was also a prominent commentator on the possibility of life on other worlds and made significant contributions to the study of lunar craters and stellar motion.
