Sherman Alexie is an American writer, poet, novelist, screenwriter, and filmmaker whose work often explores the lives and experiences of Indigenous Americans, especially Spokane people. Born and raised on the Spokane Indian Reservation, he became widely known for books such as The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven and The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian.
