Rene Colato Lainez

René Colato Laínez is a Salvadoran-American educator and award-winning author born in San Salvador, El Salvador. He specializes in bilingual and multicultural children's books that reflect the Hispanic immigrant experience, drawing from his own life journey and his work as an elementary school teacher. He holds an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts and has received numerous literary awards including the Latino Book Award and Paterson Prize.
