Remy Charlip

Remy Charlip (1929–2012) was an American Renaissance artist who excelled as a dancer, choreographer, theater director, designer, and children's book author and illustrator. He wrote or illustrated more than 40 children's books and invented a innovative choreography form called Air Mail Dances, in which dancers interpreted illustrated figures he would mail to them. His multifaceted career transformed both the worlds of dance and children's literature.
