Reece McGee

Reece J. McGee (1929-2021) was a prominent American sociologist and author, earning degrees from the University of Minnesota (BA 1952, MA 1953, PhD 1956) and teaching at institutions including Humboldt State College, University of Texas, and Purdue University, where he served as a full professor and department head before retiring in 1995.[1][4][7] He authored books such as 'Sociology: An Introduction' and 'The Alcoholic Society: Addiction and Recovery of the Self,' contributing significantly to sociological literature on addiction and society.[6][7] McGee was honored in Purdue’s 'Book of Great Teachers' in 1999 and passed away in Lafayette, Indiana.[1][4]
