Rebecca Stead

Rebecca Stead is an American writer of fiction for children and teens, best known for her 2010 Newbery Medal-winning novel When You Reach Me. Born and raised in New York City, she studied at Vassar College and New York University School of Law, later working as a lawyer before becoming a full-time author.
