Rasmus Lerdorf

Rasmus Lerdorf is a Danish-Canadian programmer widely recognized as the creator of the PHP scripting language, which he initially developed in 1994 as a set of tools to track visitors to his personal website. Born in Greenland, he grew up in Denmark and Canada, earning a Systems Design Engineering degree from the University of Waterloo. He has worked at companies like Yahoo!, Etsy, and others, while continuing to contribute to PHP and open-source projects.
