Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman was an Indian physicist renowned for discovering the Raman effect, for which he received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930.[1][2] He played a pivotal role in advancing Indian science by founding the Indian Academy of Sciences in 1934, the Indian Journal of Physics in 1926, and the Raman Research Institute in 1948, while mentoring key figures like Homi J. Bhabha and Vikram Sarabhai.[1][2]
