Rachel Hawkins is a New York Times bestselling author born in Virginia and raised in Alabama who has written over a dozen books across multiple genres. She launched her career with the Hex Hall YA paranormal romance trilogy and has since become known for adult Gothic thrillers like The Wife Upstairs and Reckless Girls. Under the pen name Erin Sterling, she also writes paranormal romantic comedies.
