R. McNeill Alexander

Robert McNeill Alexander (known as Neill) was a British zoologist and leading authority in biomechanics, specializing in animal mechanics through mathematical models and publishing 23 books and 280 papers.[1][2] He served as Professor of Zoology at the University of Leeds for thirty years and was principal scientific advisor for 'The Future Is Wild,' contributing to concepts like the megasquid.[1][5] He was appointed CBE and elected FRS for his pioneering work on optimal evolutionary designs in animal locomotion.[1][2]
