R. M. W. Dixon

R.M.W. Dixon (born January 25, 1939, in Gloucester, England) is a renowned British-Australian linguist specializing in the documentation of Australian Indigenous languages, including Dyirbal, Yidiñ, and others, with grammars and dictionaries published since the 1960s. He has made significant contributions to linguistic theory through works like 'Ergativity' (1994) and the three-volume 'Basic Linguistic Theory' (2010-2012), and has extensively analyzed English grammar in books such as 'A Semantic Approach to English Grammar' (2005).
