R. A. Bullivant
Dr. Roger Bullivant (1921–2004) was a renowned British musician, conductor, harpsichordist, lecturer, and teacher, best known for his work with the Sheffield Bach Society and his influential book on fugue published in Hutchinson’s University Library series.[1] Born in Rugby, he earned degrees including MA, BMus, and DPhil from Oxford, and was awarded an honorary DMus from Sheffield as well as the MBE for his contributions to music.[1] He died in November 2004, with a memorial service held at Sheffield Anglican Cathedral.[1]
