Primo Levi

Primo Levi was an Italian Jewish chemist and Holocaust survivor who became a renowned writer, best known for his poignant memoirs 'If This Is a Man' and the autobiographical collection 'The Periodic Table'. He survived a year of imprisonment at Auschwitz during World War II and later dedicated his life to bearing witness to the atrocities of the Holocaust through his literary works. Levi died in 1987 in Turin, Italy, under circumstances officially ruled a suicide.
