Pramod S. Moharir

Pramod Sadasheo Moharir (1943–2003) was an Indian geophysicist renowned for his work in geophysical signal processing, earthquake sequence modeling, and numerical algorithms for earth system models. He earned an MTech from IIT Mumbai in 1966 and a PhD from IIT Kanpur in 1971, later serving as a lecturer at BITS Pilani and IIT Roorkee before becoming a senior scientist at the National Geophysical Research Institute, where he authored the book *Pattern Recognition Transforms*. He passed away from a brain haemorrhage at age 59.
