Pierre Reverdy
Pierre Reverdy was a French poet born in 1889 whose work was deeply influenced by and subsequently shaped the avant-garde movements of Cubism, Surrealism, and Dadaism. He founded the literary review Nord-Sud in 1917 and became a leading theorist of Cubist literature, later retiring to an ascetic life near a Benedictine monastery in Solesmes until his death in 1960.
