Philip W Sergeant

Philip Walsingham Sergeant (1872–1952) was a British writer best known for his works on chess and for writing on popular historical subjects. He contributed to multiple editions of *Modern Chess Openings* and authored notable chess books on players such as Paul Morphy, Rudolf Charousek, and Harry Nelson Pillsbury.
