Peter Robinson
Peter Robinson (1950–2022) was a British-born Canadian crime writer best known for his Inspector Alan Banks series set in the fictional Yorkshire town of Eastvale, beginning with Gallows View in 1987. Born in Yorkshire, he earned degrees in English and creative writing before moving to Canada, where he wrote award-winning novels, short story collections like Not Safe After Dark and The Price of Love, and standalone works such as Caedmon's Song. His books garnered numerous accolades, including multiple Arthur Ellis Awards, Edgar Awards, and the Crime Writers of Canada Grand Master Award, selling over 10 million copies worldwide.
