Peter Lovesey
Peter Harmer Lovesey (1936–2025) was a British author renowned for his historical and contemporary detective novels, including the Victorian-era Sergeant Cribb series and the modern Peter Diamond series set in Bath.[1][2] He began writing after a career in education and sports history, becoming one of the world's leading track and field statisticians, and received prestigious awards like the Mystery Writers of America Grand Master and the Crime Writers’ Association Cartier Diamond Dagger.[1][4][5]
