Peter Haggett
Peter Haggett CBE (24 January 1933 – 9 February 2025) was a prominent British geographer and academic, known as a leading figure in locational and spatial analysis who later dedicated his career to geographical epidemiology and the study of infectious diseases[1][3]. He served as Professor Emeritus and Senior Research Fellow in Urban and Regional Geography at the University of Bristol, where he was also Vice-Chancellor from 1984 to 1985[1][6]. Haggett received numerous accolades, including the Vautrin Lud Prize (the 'Nobel Prize of Geography') in 1991, and authored over 30 works on urban geography, regional geography, and disease diffusion[3][9].
