Peter Guttridge

Peter Guttridge is an English novelist, critic, and former Director of the Brighton Literature Festival, who served for 11 years as the Observer newspaper’s crime fiction critic. He is best known for his Brighton Crime Series, including titles like Butcher’s Wood and the non-comic Brighton crime trilogy: The City of Dreadful Night, The Last King of Brighton, and The Thing Itself. His works also encompass comic crime novels featuring Nick Madrid, standalone thrillers, non-fiction on The Great Train Robbery, short stories, and novellas involving Sherlock Holmes and Jules Poiret.
