Peter Gutmann

Peter Gutmann is a New Zealand computer scientist and author specializing in computer security, cryptography, and data protection. He is the developer of the cryptlib cryptography software library and the creator of the 'Gutmann Method' for secure data deletion from hard drives. His pioneering 1996 paper on secure deletion remains a foundational work in the field.
