Peter Burchard

Peter Burchard (1921–2004) was an American author, freelance designer, and illustrator. He wrote both nonfiction and fiction for young readers, with a strong focus on American history and maritime history, including works about the Civil War such as *One Gallant Rush* and *Lincoln and Slavery*.
