Peter Abbs
Peter Abbs (1942–2020) was an English poet, educationalist, and academic born in Cromer, Norfolk, known for his ten books of poetry and influential works on the philosophy of education and creative writing. He was the first in his family to attend school beyond age 14, later earning a BA in English and Philosophy from Bristol University before becoming a teacher and author. Abbs is survived by his wife Lisa Dart, three children, and eight grandchildren, and his legacy includes his daughter, writer Annabel Abbs.
