Perry D. Jamieson
Perry D. Jamieson is a historian specializing in military history, particularly the Civil War and U.S. Army tactics, who earned his Ph.D. from Wayne State University in 1979 and worked for approximately thirty years as a civilian historian for the U.S. Air Force, retiring as senior historian in 2009.[1][2] He co-authored notable books such as 'Attack and Die: Civil War Military Tactics and the Southern Heritage' with Grady McWhiney and 'Crossing the Deadly Ground: United States Army Tactics, 1865-1899,' and has written on Air Force history and other topics.[1][2][5] After retirement, he and his wife Stephanie settled in Sharpsburg.[2]
