Perle Ca 1890-1975 Mesta

Perle Mesta (born Pearl Reid Skirvin) was an American socialite, renowned Washington hostess, Republican-turned-Democratic fundraiser, and U.S. ambassador to Luxembourg from 1949 to 1953, famously dubbed 'the Hostess with the Mostes'' in the Broadway musical Call Me Madam. After inheriting fortunes from her oil tycoon father and steel magnate husband George Mesta, who died in 1925, she hosted lavish inclusive parties for political elites and broke barriers by integrating Truman's inaugural balls. She remained active in politics, philanthropy, and society until her death from hemolytic anemia in Oklahoma City.[1][3]
