Percy 1846-1937 Gardner
Percy Gardner (1846–1937) was an English classical archaeologist and numismatist renowned for his contributions to Greek art, numismatics, and archaeology.[1][2] He served as Disney Professor of Archaeology at Cambridge (1879–1887) and Lincoln Professor at Oxford (1887–1925), where he developed the archaeology department, and assisted in excavations like Naucratis with Flinders Petrie.[1][2][3] A prolific author, his notable works include *The Types of Greek Coins* (1883), *New Chapters in Greek Art* (1926), and *Principles of Greek Art* (1913).[1][3]
