Penny Kittle
Penny Kittle is an educator and author who taught and coached literacy in public schools for 34 years, including 21 years at Kennett High School in North Conway, New Hampshire, before teaching freshman composition at Plymouth State University.[1][2][3] She has authored nine books on reading and writing, including Book Love, Write Beside Them (NCTE James Britton award winner), and 180 Days (co-authored with Kelly Gallagher), and serves as president of the Book Love Foundation.[1][4] She received the Exemplary Leader Award from NCTE’s Conference on English Leadership and speaks widely on student-centered literacy practices.[1][3]
